This lavender honey latte is a delicious beverage to add to your repertoire for the summer. Hot or iced, the floral flavors and sweetness from the honey perfectly complement each other. I prefer mine cold, but my husband tried the hot version and enjoyed it.
Lavender is one of my favorite flavors to add to drinks. In the past, I’ve made a delicious lavender gin cocktail, as well as a refreshing lavender lemonade. Truthfully, when lavender first started becoming popular, I was on the fence about it. I loved the scent for essential oils and soaps, but I wasn’t sure if that would translate to it tasting good in drinks. I’m happy to report that it’s delicious, and has become a staple for me.
If you have an espresso maker, you have no problem making espresso at home. If you have limited space or a limited budget, a moka pot is a great option for brewing espresso on the stove top. I actually have two Bialetti moka pots – a 3-cup moka pot and a 6-cup moka pot. The 3-cup works for a single latte, while the 6-cup serves two drinks. Sometimes I like to brew espresso in the 6-cup pot in the morning. I’ll drink half of it hot in the morning and save the other half in the fridge for an afternoon iced coffee.
There are many ways to get hot or cold foam for your lattes. You can use a handheld milk frother from Amazon. There are also so many alternative ways to froth milk. My preferred method is to use a special automatic milk frothing machine that my husband gave me. It creates both hot and cold foam depending on the setting you use. I’ve been using mine for a few years and it’s still going strong!
Note: I prefer my lattes lightly sweetened and flavored, so this recipe delivers that kind of a drink. Feel free to add an extra shot of lavender syrup or honey if your taste is different than mine!
This recipe serves one.
