Gin and lavender syrup are staples in my cocktail arsenal. I love any cocktail that uses these two elements. This delightfully refreshing lavender lemon gin cocktail features the flavors of lavender, St. Germain, gin, and fresh lemon.
This is actually my all time favorite cocktail recipe – I love lavender lemonade and I love gin, so this was a way to bring a few of my favorite flavors together. It’s the perfect cocktail to craft for a warm summer evening sitting on your front porch.
The simple syrup comes together on the stovetop in just a few minutes. The rest of the ingredients are ready to mix right away. Sip this delicious cocktail in the summer months and you’ll feel like you are on an endless vacation.
For the lavender syrup, be sure to use culinary grade lavender. You can order some online from my favorite local spot, Hidden Spring Lavender Farm. I love visiting this spot in the summer – besides the gorgeous lavender fields, you can feed the cute alpacas! They have a beautiful gift shop where I purchase my culinary lavender.
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil over high heat.
Once boiling, remove from heat and add 1 cup of white sugar, stirring until dissolved.
Add 2 tbsp dried culinary lavender to the sugar water mixture and let sit for 90 minutes.
Pour into a jar or bottle and refrigerate.
Combine ingredients with a scoop of ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake until combined. Strain and pour over a glass of ice. Enjoy!
