It’s that time of year again – time to start thinking about holiday gifting! Coming up with gifts is always a challenge, but it can also be a lot of fun. Sometimes, gifting can get a little pricy. If you’re a thrift store junkie like me, perhaps you’re considering some thrifted gift ideas this year.
Some might say that thrifting gifts is a no-no, but I think it’s a great way to save some money, be mindful of our environment, and come up with something extra special. If you need any more convincing, check out my post where I share reasons to shop at thrift stores. There are some tricks to pulling off thrifted gifts. For starters, I typically pair a thrifted item with another newer item. Also, you’ll want to select items that are in good condition and easy to clean.
Need some suggestions? Here, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite thrifted gift ideas that you can easily recreate!
Thrift gorgeous vintage wine glasses or cocktail glasses and pair with a bottle of wine or booze. You could also pair a vintage decanter with a bottle of scotch or fill it with holiday candy.
Thrift pretty holiday tins to fill with Christmas candies or baked goods.
Thrift vintage ornaments to tie to a gift bag or gift basket for an extra special touch.
Thrift photo frames or albums and fill them up with printed photos.
Thrift a stunning vase or planter and place seasonal florals or a potted plant inside.
Thrift a gorgeous vintage book and pair it with a book embosser customized with the recipients name.
Thrift mason jars or other pretty containers to fill up with a treat. I filled mine with homemade rosemary salt from my garden, but yours could be filled with hot cocoa mix or tea bags for a favorite tea.
Thrift a vintage canister and fill it with new kitchen utensils. You could also pair this with a thrifted cook book.
Look for new with tags items at the thrift store, whether it be clothes, cookware, or something else entirely.
I hope these ideas inspire you to consider some thrifted gift ideas this holiday season. Which idea are you most likely to try? Let me know in the comments!
