As a stay-at-home mama, I’m a little less concerned about my appearance than I used to be. I once enjoyed dressing up and doing my hair and makeup daily for my job. Now that I’m home most of the time, I really stick to the essentials. I try to take care of myself, staying clean and groomed, but I save styling my hair and doing my makeup for the weekends. Despite my more minimal routine, I still have my favorite beauty products that I enjoy using.
Here are a few of my favorite products that I use often and would recommend to others looking for something similar. These span everything from skin care to hair care to my favorite nail polish. These all have my seal of approval!

Pore strips are my favorite way to clear out the pores on my nose. If you are blackhead or whitehead prone, they are a gentle and effective way to unclog the buildup. In addition to your nose, they can also be used on your forehead and chin.
For smooth feet, I am obsessed with using the Baby Foot Exfoliation foot peel. Basically, you place your feet in the booties for the amount of time the instructions say. Within a few days, a layer of your skin starts peeling off, revealing baby smooth skin underneath.
Be fairly warned – the experience of removing the loose skin is oddly satisfying and a little disgusting. For a few days, you will have peely skin on your feet until they are done shedding. I recommend using it when you are able to wear shoes that completely cover your feet for a few days.
All that said, I’ve never found anything more effective than this peel. It really works, and you’ll end up with totally smooth feet, free of dry skin and cracks.

I love a light moisturizer, and this Clinique spray feels amazing on my face. It’s great to throw on in the morning before makeup or at night before bed. It offers moisture and it honestly just feels so refreshing on the skin.

I have been through a lot of different perfumes over the years. I used to wear Sexy Little Things by Victorias Secret, but it got discontinued. Then I loved Guess Dare, but that also got discontinued. Finally, I landed on Paris Hilton perfume, which is actually pretty affordable and can often be found at Ross and Burlington Coat Factory. I was going to try and replace it with something else, but my husband really loves this one. I decided to stick to it!
The common thread between my favorite scents is that they have notes of fruit, floral, and musk. Paris Hilton combines fruit, florals, and sandalwood for a well-rounded scent.

For a while, I was really struggling to detangle my fine hair after washing it. It would get unmanageably knotty, especially in the back. I would brush it out and the knots would still be there. I was experiencing a lot of breakage, even though I was conditioning like crazy.
One day, I was out of my conditioner and I tried my daughter’s bottle. The difference was night and day! I could finally comb through my hair without an awful crackling sound. Now I’ve completely given up on my Organix conditioner and I just share with my daughter. I would highly recommend this for caring for thin or fine hair.

I used to get raccoon eyes after a day of wearing mascara. One day I walked into Ulta, explained my problem, and asked for a recommendation. The sales girl brought me a tube of Bad Gal Bang mascara paired with a Lancôme primer.
If you can get past the provocative name, this is genuinely the best mascara combo I’ve ever used. Even without the primer, the mascara adds volume and has some staying power. With the primer, I can wear this all day without any smudges. I’m very loyal to both of these products, as I’ve never found their equal anywhere else.

When I do my nails, my top color choice is always a good neutral shade. I like it when my nails are solid beige, and I don’t like the shade to go on too transparent. This OPI nail polish shade has been my favorite lately.
My favorite thing about neutral nails is that chips take a little longer to show up than when you are wearing a darker color. Also, if you were into Taylor Swift’s neutral engagement nails, this might be the shade for you.
