Affordable Maternity Clothes: The Best Brands to Dress Your Bump

By , August 7, 2025

Is it just me, or has it gotten challenging to find comfortable, affordable maternity clothes? For me, the most challenging part is that I usually have to shop for these clothes online. Only a few stores actually carry maternity clothing at their physical locations. What’s more is that it can get so expensive to buy maternity clothes. It’s hard for me to want to invest money in something I’m only getting a few months of wear out of!

If you are expecting, you understand the need for affordable and cute maternity clothing. If you’re not sure where to start looking, here are some great places to shop for stylish and affordable maternity clothing that you can use to style your bump. The first three options have a selection of maternity clothes in-store, in case you prefer to try things on.

Target Maternity

For my first pregnancy, I found a few of my nicer dresses at Target Maternity. I wore a bluish-purple dress from Target for my maternity photo shoot (see above photo). Target does have some maternity clothes in store, so you can opt to shop in person. However, they have a greater selection online.

Kohl’s Maternity

Kohl’s is another great place to shop both in store and online. I bought a few cute tops from Kohl’s, but my absolute favorite is their leggings. I have multiple pairs of Sonoma’s maternity leggings in dark grey and camo. They are the most comfortable leggings I’ve found, and they pair great with a comfy maternity dress or a long tunic.

Walmart Maternity

Another store with a small selection of maternity clothing in-store is Walmart. I found some leggings there, which were solid leggings, but not as great as my Kohl’s ones. I also got some good basics, like t-shirts and tank tops, for an affordable price. I tried their maternity jeans, but wasn’t a fan. They didn’t really stay in place and tended to fall off of me. But I did love everything else I bought there.

Shein

Shein has a great assortment of maternity clothing that you can buy online for a low price. I bought mostly dresses from Shein during my last pregnancy, and I loved them all! Since I will be at my biggest this fall/winter, I plan to pair my Shein dresses with some non-maternity cardigans and my favorite Kohl’s leggings.

Old Navy Maternity

Old Navy has a wide selection of cute and comfy maternity clothing! From yoga pants to pretty dresses to comfy basics, you can shop so many different styles. I have not personally ordered anything from Old Navy, but I think I’m going to give their yoga pants a try once my regular pants stop fitting.

Gap Maternity

Gap has a full range of maternity clothes available for an affordable price. If you are looking for a pair of maternity jeans, Gap Maternity might be a great option. Their maternity jeans come in four cuts: skinny jeans, straight, slim and relaxed. The jeans have two options: a small piece of elastic in the waistband or a full elastic panel to sit on your belly.

H&M Maternity

If you are looking for trendier pieces to add to your maternity wardrobe, H&M is a great option. Shop their looks for affordable and on trend fashion options to dress your growing bump.
