I love a simple crock pot meal, and this easy crock pot chili recipe does not disappoint! With a blend of three different beans and tasty ground turkey, this savory dish tastes great right from the crock pot. However, it also makes for amazing leftovers.
Easy Crock Pot Chili Recipe: The Secret Ingredient
My secret ingredient in any chili recipe is chili beans. My favorite is the Wegmans store brand chili beans. The trick is not to rinse them when you take them out of the can. The sauce that these beans come with adds such a great flavor to the chili! While I do rinse the chickpeas and kidney beans, be sure to dump all of the contents of your chili beans can into the pot for the tastiest results.
Easy Crock Pot Chili Recipe: Other Yummy Flavors
In addition to the beans, I like to add some browned ground turkey to the recipe. It’s leaner than beef and is so tasty too! A few cans of tomato sauce and a blend of spices add the perfect flavor.
Easy Crock Pot Chili Recipe: Customize Your Chili
One of my favorite things about making chili is how easy it is to customize the recipe. If you’re out of one of the spices or want to substitute black beans for the kidney beans, you can easily move forward and still enjoy a delicious chili. So while I’m sharing this recipe with all of my favorite ingredients, feel free to customize to suit your tastes, or simply to work with what you have on hand in your kitchen.
Enjoying Leftovers
Leftover chili can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can also freeze it for 3-4 months. I love leftover chili, and it can be a great option for meal prep if you pack a lunch for work.
