Homemade Christmas Gifts for Friends and Family

By , October 24, 2025

Christmas is fast approaching, as evidenced by the décor that seems to find its way into stores during the summer months. With the holiday season comes the need for figuring out gifts. Every year, I love coming up with affordable handmade gifts that I can give my friends. I try to start early so I have plenty of time to put together my homemade Christmas gifts.

If you enjoy gifting homemade items that are useful and thoughtful, this post is for you! I’m sharing ten homemade Christmas gift ideas that you can easily put together for friends and family.

Handmade Christmas gifts: Soy Candles Handpoured in Vintage Vessels

Vintage Vessel Candle

I love making handmade candles in vintage vessels. These make for an affordable gift for the holiday season! Picking a pretty vessel at a thrift or antique store is a big part of the fun. If the vessel you choose is larger, be sure to add multiple wicks.

Vintage Mason Jar full of rosemary salt

Rosemary Salt

A simple gift for friends and family is to use your herb garden to make something special. I typically make rosemary salt, because it has a long shelf life and it is practical and useful. Add an extra special touch by including a recipe card with ideas for how to use the salt.
