Spring is nearly here, and this is the perfect time to give my home a little facelift. Some deep cleaning and a change of decor can help get you excited for the new season. If you want to learn how to refresh your home for spring, I’ve got some ideas in this blog post!
Spring is my favorite season, both for the weather and for the home decor. I love flowers, and I enjoy being in nature and seeing all of the fresh florals that spring has to offer. I also enjoy decorating my home with floral arrangements and patterns. But spring brings more than just florals: it brings lighter and brighter colors, fresh fabrics, and bright sunlight pouring into your rooms.
After a long, cold winter, spring is such a welcome change! Here’s some inspiration for how to refresh your home for spring.
Spring is the perfect time to give your home a nice deep cleaning. Dust your home, including that ceiling fan you ignore for the rest of the year. Move your furniture and rugs and clean underneath. Shampoo your rugs and carpets. Clean the insides and outsides of your windows. Take the time to get everything fresh and clean for the start of a new season.
Along with that spring deep cleaning, it’s a great time to organize your home. While organizing, go through your things and create a pile of items you no longer use to donate to the thrift store.
One of my favorite parts of spring is pulling out all of my Easter and spring decor and reimagining it for the new season. Once I’ve taken inventory of what I have, I can also create a shopping list for new decor items to purchase.
I like to get some inspiration for spring decor on Pinterest. Create a spring Pinterest board to see what you are interested in trying new this year.
One of the most exciting parts of spring is the florals and greenery. You can opt for real or faux. I have some gorgeous faux floral centerpieces that I enjoy bringing out for spring. You can also create real arrangements with fresh flowers, or care for some potted plants that will last even longer.
Spring is when you can switch to a lighter bedspread in a seasonal pattern. I have a gorgeous quilt that my sister made that I love to lay out on my bed this time of year. It’s also good to try fresh throw pillows and throw blankets, whether on your bed or couch. Do away with dark colors and heavy textured fabrics and opt for bright colors, floral patterns, and cool linens.
