For my daughter’s first birthday party this past summer, I followed a recipe for strawberry lemonade and served mixed berries as a side dish. The theme of the party was strawberries, her favorite fruit, and the perfect theme for a first birthday. I even lucked out and scored some free strawberry decorations from someone else who had done a similar theme. After the party, the mixed berries were a bit mushy and had formed a syrup. I was inspired to alter the recipe I tried for the party to create my own mixed berry lemonade.
Fresh Ingredients
This mixed berry lemonade features a refreshing blend of strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. It’s super sweet with the familiar sour taste of lemonade. The result is a refreshing virgin beverage that’s perfect for a warm-weather party or to serve yourself on a warm summer day.
A Sweet Lemonade Beverage
I’m not usually interested in super sweet drinks, but this beverage really is on the sweeter side. I also usually focus on creating cocktails, but it was so fun to make a virgin beverage that can be enjoyed by all. This is truly an amazing summer drink that is a surefire crowd pleaser!
Experiment with the Recipe
You can add a bit more or less sugar to get the level of sweetness that you desire! You could also try different berries to get a unique flavor for your drink. If you choose to experiment with this recipe, please share your results in the comments below.
Mixed Berry Lemonade
This delicious non-alcoholic mixed berry lemonade is the perfect fruity beverage to serve at a party.
In a blender, combine all of the berries, 1/4 cup of the sugar, and 1/4 cup of water. Blend well.
Pour into a large pitcher and add lemon juice, remaining 5 and 3/4 cups water, and the remaining 1 1/2 half cups of sugar. Mix well.
Serve your mixed berry lemonade over ice and top with fresh berries or lemon slices.
