This delicious plum juice recipe was conceived of when my sister gave me a few plums that she got for free. I didn’t think I could eat them all before they went bad, so I opted to juice them. I’m pregnant as I write this post, so I’ve been on a bit of a mocktail kick. I don’t want to drink just plain juice! I’m always looking for ways to elevate my beverages so that I don’t miss all the cocktails that I usually enjoy making. As a result, I created a sweet and tasty mocktail that you are sure to enjoy!

Plums provide quite a variety of health benefits! For starters, they are known to  protect against cancer and inflammation. They also help to stabilize your blood sugar and protect your heart. Plums also can improve your memory, strengthen your bones, and aid with digestion.

Plum Juice Recipe: The Best Ingredients 

The ingredients in this beverage really come together for a spectacular drink that is reminiscent of fall. I decided that in addition to freshly squeezed plum juice, I would add some apple juice for more seasonal flavor. A little cinnamon and sugar sweetened the drink. The final touch is a splash of vanilla extract, which really took the taste to the next level, adding a hint of creaminess.

This drink reminds me of an elevated apple cider, which is another autumn beverage that I enjoy this time of year. It is still refreshing enough for late summer, and I found it to be the perfect transitional weather drink. This recipe makes just one drink, but you can adjust the recipe to make as many as you want. It’s an impressive treat to serve to friends and family, whether for a small get together or an autumn soiree.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 oz plum juice
  • 2 oz apple juice
  • 1 tsp cane sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Method
 

  1. Juice the plums and set aside. Juice the apples and store in a separate container.
  2. Using a mesh strainer, strain the pulp from each juice. You may need to stir the juice with a spoon to separate all the juice from the pulp.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add juice, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla. Shake vigorously.
  4. Strain out the ice that was in the cocktail shaker and pour beverage over a fresh glass of ice.
  5. Garnish with apple slices and enjoy!
