Gin and lavender syrup are staples in my cocktail arsenal. I love any cocktail that uses these two elements. This delightfully refreshing lavender lemon gin cocktail features the flavors of lavender, St. Germain, gin, and fresh lemon.
This is actually my all time favorite cocktail recipe – I love lavender lemonade and I love gin, so this was a way to bring a few of my favorite flavors together. It’s the perfect cocktail to craft for a warm summer evening sitting on your front porch.
Lavender Lemon Gin Cocktail – Making Simple Syrup
For this recipe, you will need lavender syrup. You can purchase this online, or make your own lavender simple syrup. The simple syrup comes together on the stovetop in just a few minutes. It just needs some time to cool before you put it to use, so stash it in your fridge. The rest of the ingredients are ready to mix right away. Sip this delicious cocktail in the summer months and you’ll feel like you are on an endless vacation.
Lavender Lemon Gin Cocktail – Culinary Lavender
For the lavender syrup, be sure to use culinary grade lavender. If you don’t, the end result might end up tasting way too strong, even soapy. You can order some great culinary lavender online from my favorite local spot, Hidden Spring Lavender Farm. I love visiting this spot in the summer – besides the gorgeous lavender fields, you can feed the cute alpacas! They have a beautiful gift shop where I purchase my culinary lavender.
